The types of information that constitutes personal information (PI) include race, sex, gender, pregnancy, marital status, nationality, color, sexual orientation, age, physical and mental health, disability, ethnicity, culture, language, and birthplace. A person’s educational history, financial history, criminal record, or employment history; An identification number, symbol, email address, physical address, telephone number, location, or online identifier; A person’s biometric information; their opinions, views, or preferences. If the person sends correspondences that are considered confidential or private, or if the correspondence reveals the original contents. A person’s views or opinions, whether or not they are recorded electronically.
POPIA is the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013, as amended from time to time. Hereafter, TFE is referred to as “The Franchise Evolution”.
Security protocols are in place on TFE’s website servers. Member companies manage their own databases of customers and maintain their own privacy policies. To find out more about a dealership’s POPIA policy, contact them directly.
Customer information may contain classified or confidential information, for which the customer is responsible. As well, a Pl is private and confidential in nature because it involves any third party involved directly or indirectly with the declaration. TFE also acknowledges the importance of the Pl being confidential and the value of access to it.
We comply with POPIA’s rules and regulations as a company. The company collects, uses, and processes Personal Information in accordance with this policy only for the purposes of fulfilling its obligations.
It guarantees the confidentiality of Pl for TFE, its employees, its contractors, and any other individuals who may come into contact with it, its employees, its contractors, or any other persons authorized to access it.
Without our clients’ prior written consent, we do not allow third parties access to our PLOs, as defined in POPIA, and we do not transfer our PLOs outside of South Africa.
